How the US Senate looked from 1914-2004 Video



This video will show you each election cycle for the United States Senate by state since the 17th Amendment was ratified allowing for the direct election of Senators.

Several things to note..... the deep south has changed A LOT in 90 years (politically), the 1930's weren't so good for the Republicans. How would you like a 75-17 plurality (like in 1936 for the Dems)?

Another curiosity, Pennysylvania only had 1 sitting Senator from 1926 to 1929 because of a scandal involving Senator elect William S Vare during his 1926 election and the refusal of then Governor Pinchot to certify him LINK

Be certain to pump up the volume as there is music included. The entire length is about 4 minutes and I hope you enjoy it, I find it informative.
