Hastert knew about the Foley fiasco in the Spring?

and did nothing about it? I smell a REAL scandel and the GOP better be prepared. I say, if it is truly the case that Hastert knew about Foley and the paige and did nothing about until the media brought it out... then he should resign IMMEDIATELY.

The incompetence of the GOP beguiles me. Foley should have resigned months ago IF the "leader"ship knew about it. NOW it is unlikely that his name can be taken off the Florida ballot AND that guarantees another DEM takeover.

If the GOP is this stupid, then they DESERVE to lose the House. Hastert, Boener, they all must leave the "leader"ship. NOW.

Menedez to stay on Jersey ballot?

"Senate Democrats said they won't try to replace Sen. Robert Menendez of New Jersey, despite new accusations of corruption that surfaced yesterday in the Democratic incumbent's already tough re-election race.

"We expect week after week they're going to throw these allegations around," said Sen. Charles E. Schumer, New York Democrat and chairman of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee."

MORE

NOT likely.. err that the Republicans actually gain the GOP Senate seat. There's NO way that will happen, either Menedez will pull out and be replaced or it will be the dirtiest campaign you can imagine (could it be any worse in Virginia?).
Ivory-Billed woodpeckers found in Florida

It still lives. How hard is it to think that it survived for 60 years nearly undetected? Birds move long distances. Anyway, it is great that we might someday have more numerous populations of this bird. In fact, someday they may even roam parts of the Missouri bootheel again?

Republicans feeling more confident about November polls

"There has been a palpable shift in the mood in Washington in recent weeks. No longer are insiders in both parties sharing predictions of a Democratic rout of Republicans. Some on both sides had expected an election debacle for the Republicans, driven by the Iraq war, high gas prices and the perception that a Republican-led Washington can neither shoot nor spend straight."

The Dems focus group to rebuke Chavez... do they not agree with him?

"Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez took his Bush-bashing to Harlem yesterday and earned a stiff rebuke from the New York district's congressman, Rep. Charles B. Rangel, who is no fan of President Bush."

Seems to Clark Mountain Musings that an election is impending and Rangel doesn't want to look like a complete fanatic. Keep in mind that Rangel has said very, very, very nice things about Castro's Cuba (and Castro himself). Castro Junior is no different.

In fact check this out......... from Discover the Networks

"When Castro toured Harlem in October of 1995, Rangel greeted him with a bear hug and joined in a prolonged standing ovation for the visiting dictator."

Hmmmm..... something tells me that Rangel wouldn't be saying what he's saying about the Junior Castro if......their wasn't a threat Rangel could actually become a committee chairman.
